Joyeux Noël Nice

Growing up in the U.S., I always had the privilege of growing up with the potential for a white Christmas, even if "there might be more snow in Colorado, than my roof will ever see" in Tennessee.
That being said, it was a bit odd to wander into a Christmas festival in 60 degree weather with only a light jacket and scarf needed to keep me warm. But what they were lacking in cold, Nice made up for in their beautiful lights.
Overall, it was a beautiful night spent with friends before we take another Christmas tour in Strasbourg, France and Germany in a week (so stay posted for more festive photos).
When we were in Rome, the middle school tourists were OBSESSED with getting photos that showed both a monument and their reflection in the water. Nice made it easy for us and put their lights at the head of their splash pad, so this time I was not seeking out muddy puddles.
The rest of their lights were lovely as well, and it made my night to see a Christmas (palm) tree.

Of course, the best part of the evening full of Christmas lights was getting to wander around with these hooligans who can't keep a straight face.

They were the perfect company and gave into all my portrait pleas and demands.

Besides the lights and the overpriced ferris wheel, the fair also offered some warm drinks and snacks like hot wine and Socca, a Nice specialty dessert made with chickpeas and a wood-fired oven.

But of course, the fan favorite was the classic Barbe de Papa (or cotton candy). For only 2,50 euros, it was also the cheapest snack.

Excited to say as well that in a little over two weeks that I'll be home for Christmas (and not only in my dreams)!
